The Album

I have 1 day left. For the last 2 weeks I've been sitting in front of the sequencer each day for 14 hours. I wake up, I drink some coffee I boot it up and I get to work. At night I do the recordings because it's the most silent and quiet time of the day and roughly at 2:00 am every morning I go to bed.

I mix, and record and remix, and rerecord. I do the mockup, I check the equalizers, I edit the Backing vocals, I edit my own recordings, I fix the intonation, I fix the articulation, I take out the sharp "s" sounds with the de-esser, I change the reverbs, I bounce, I delete and then I bounce again.

And now that I'm almost done, I don't want to show it to anybody. I want to bury it in a ditch somewhere, far, far away.... safe from the criticism of teachers, and musicians and singers and composers. Far away from any evaluation. Maybe I'll hide the CD under a floor board somewhere, and 50 years after I'm dead  they'll find it.

Why does everything need to be evaluated....

aaaaahhhhr.... 1 more day and then I'll be standing in front of the comission...
